Introduced and established in the Congo River basin (Ref. 1739, 1978, 13364). Known from the lower Congo (Ref. 2920), Pool Malebo (Ref. 50602), middle Congo, Kasai (Ref. 2920), Lake Tumba (Ref. 1739, 1978), Ubangi (Ref. 50602) and Wagenia Falls (Ref. 106245). After the extraordinary inundation in 1979, it passed the falls at Tubundubundu near Ubundu and rapidly enlarged its distribution in the Lualaba River (Ref. 51906). Also Ref. 3514.
